Sky & Sky Q installation, repair and servicing
Sky and Sky dish installation and upgrades
Sky TV have been beaming channels to Irish homes since 1998. From this early stage we have specialised in the installation of discrete chimney mounted satellite dishes, as well as repairs and upgrades to existing installations.
Just like FreeSat and free to air channels, the Sky signal is beamed from Astra 28.2 East. Sky subscribers in Ireland have a slightly different channel list compared to those in Northern Ireland and Great Britain, however channels not available on the official Irish EPG (Electronic Program Guide) can be manually tuned into the "Other Channels" section of both standard Sky and Sky+HD boxes. If you'd like some information on tuning in the additional channels get in touch, we can get it done for you fast!
Our top priorities have always been providing a comprehensive Sky support service, getting the job done quickly with the minimum of fuss and keeping our work as neat and tidy as possible.
- We can provide replacement HD boxes
- We perform wideband LNB repairs
- We can replace Hybrid LNBs
- We can convert existing satellite dishes to Sky Q
- If your Sky Q box isn't getting a good signal we can help
- Installation and repair of damaged cabling
- Dish alignment and maintenance carried out
Do you want to add free-to-air programming to your existing Sky setup?
If you have an existing free to air system alongside your Sky equipment, a hybrid LNB will need to be used in order for both systems to work simultaneously. Our highly experienced installers can upgrade your satellite dish LNB so you can have both channel lineups from the same dish.
We provide a complete satellite dish and Sky support service in the Cork area so if you are having problems with your Sky installation, you want to upgrade to Sky Q, or you'd like to extend your Sky viewing to additional rooms drop us a line today - we can get you set up fast, and at a very competitive price!
Sky+ and Sky+HD upgrades and repairs
Sky+HD boxes have two satellite tuners enabling the user to watch one channel while recording another. The two satellite signals are usually supplied from a Quad or Octo universal LNB. A HDMI cable is then used to connect the digibox to the customer’s television set.
The Sky+HD box replaced the standard and white Sky+ boxes from 2011 onwards and they are the most common set top box used throughout Ireland. We can repair, replace and re-tune Sky+HD boxes whenever needed.

Sky Q installation and upgrades in Cork
Sky brought Sky Q to the Irish market in 2015 and since then it has grown in popularity with their customers. Unlike previous digiboxes, which all required Universal LNB's, the Q box is supplied with two co-axial cables running to a wideband LNB. One cable is used for vertical frequencies and the other is for horizontal.
If you are an existing Sky customer and you'd like to change to Sky Q, your existing LNB must be replaced with a wideband or a hybrid type. We are very familiar with upgrading existing Sky customers' equipment to Sky Q, call us today to talk about your upgrade options.

External insulation and Sky satellite dishes
As external insulation material becomes more popular it can present challenges when attaching fixtures for Sky satellite dishes. A task we regularly perform for our customers in Cork is to remove the existing Sky dish, and re-attach it after the external insulation has been installed. We always ensure that the brackets and fixtures we attach are safely and neatly installed and left in a tidy state.
